Here’s the group of fantastic and enthusiastic people that will make your camp experience one to remember!

Jonny Lashyn

Jonny Lashyn

Camp Director

My name is Jonathan Lashyn but people often call me Jonny or Jon.

I was born & raised in Saskatoon, SK and was homeschooled from grades two through twelve. Growing up I was involved as an Altar Server at St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, took part in ConQuest (a city-wide Catholic boys’ club) for many years, played violin/piano/guitar, and loved being active in sports, especially hockey. I played Midget AAA hockey with the Saskatoon Contacts, Junior A with the Camrose Kodiaks, and NCAA Division 1 at Merrimack College just north of Boston. Faith has always been important to me and I’ve been blessed to have had the privilege of being a ConQuest leader in Saskatoon, a presenter/instructor at Confirmation classes in Camrose, and involved with “Campus Ministry” while at college in the States.

I’ve heard from many about the great experiences they’ve had and the memories they’ve made at St. Michael’s Camp. I’m looking forward to being part of the team as “Camp Director”, sharing faith, fun and fellowship with all who participate!

Sister Janet

Sister Janet

Spiritual Advisor - Youth Camp

“Sr. Janet’s first year teaching at camp was in 1990 and boasts this Camp to be her favourite. Give or take a few years, she has come back every year. Why? There is something special about St. Michael’s...it feels like coming home. So many memories and friendships, so many adventures and challenges. This Camp is a living example of community, love and faithfulness. Of course she loves the children, the lake, the bonfires and yes even the mosquitoes. Everyone knows Sr.J’s favourite color is Neon Green, “Ah, shucks” and every year is her favourite memory!”

My name is Anthony Olver and am a returning councillor to St. Michael‘s camp. I’m a graduate from Holy Cross High School and will be entering into the college of kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. My favourite classes in school are English and Chemistry. From my last year at St. Mike‘s, my favourite memory is playing sharks at the beach with all of the campers. I enjoy playing the guitar, camping, and reading among other things. On a more refined and cultured level I am especially fond of Cookies and cream ice cream. I’m excited to see old and new faces at camp this summer, and can’t wait to be back on the water with all of the campers.

Camp Counsellor

Hello, I‘m Maggie. I just finished my grade 12 year at O’Neill High School in Regina. In the fall I will be attending Campion College in the field of Science.
I am very excited to meet all of you at camp this year. This is my 10th year of coming out to St. Micheal’s Camp. I am a 3rd generation camper and proud of it. My hope is that everyone will fall in the love with the camp as much as I did.
During the year I took dance lessons, sang in the school choir and played piano. My summers are spent at the camp and visiting with my Baba and Gido. I have a black and white cat named Cookie (she is like an Oreo) and just as sweet.
Can’t wait to see you all soon and to have lots of fun.

In the fall I will be in grade 10 at O‘Neill High School in Regina. I am part of the junior basket ball team at school, play the violin and am in Air Cadets. I love to read and don’t like to be alone. I love people and keeping busy. I have a fluffy black cat named Spooks. He is very cuddly and likes to hog the bed.
I will be attending teen camp this year and helping out again with two weeks of youth camp. I can’t wait to make more friends and to play the Dinosaur game.
